 JAGS
Junior Tour
sixth annual awards banquet was held on August 30, 2006 at
the beautiful Old Ranch Country Club in Seal Beach, CA.
Players, parents and guest enjoyed an Italian buffet and
listening to special guest speaker, Mr. Alan Stearns who
spoke on the best way to select a college and golfing
program and how to approach a golf coach for recruitment. He
also told about his experiences as an Academic All American
at the University of Kansas along with funny stories about
his participation at the NCAA Championship finals in 1995
and 1996. During the evening, senior gifts were given to
graduating seniors as a "Thank You" for supporting and
participating on the tour. The JAGS Academic Scholarship
fund presented academic scholarships to, Scott Clayton (UC-
Riverside), Kenny Roberts (Cypress Community College), and
Alex Bon (Santa Clara University). Gold, Silver and Bronze
academic honors were presented to over 51 players who earned
or maintained a 3.0 grade point average during the 2005/06
season. |
