Fullerton, California - Junior Amateur Golf Scholars (JAGS) conducted the second California Orange County Junior Golf Championship at the beautiful hilly and difficult Coyote Hills Golf Club in Fullerton, California during spring break.  JAGS’ newcomers Chris Cho, San Diego, Calif., and Grace Chung, La Habra, Calif., each claimed their first JAGS victory titles.

Cho shot even par 70 on day one in his round that included three birdies on the four par 3’s.  Cho said, “I played very steady and just tried to hit fairways and greens and thought the pin locations were very difficult.”    Stephen Hawk, Holtville, Calif., was only 2 back followed by Tyler Weworski, Carlsbad, Calif., 75, Kyle Warren, Los Alamitos, Calif., 76.  Kyle Valley, Irvine, Calif. and Chad McCurdy, Thousand Oaks, Calif.,  were tied at 77 with Lawrence Hsu, West Covina, at 78.

Round two continued under ideal playing conditions with a variable wind and improved pin locations.  Several players made a run at the leader but were unable to catch him as Cho posted 70-77-147 for a two shot victory over Weworski 75-74-149.  Dan Geis , El Segundo, Calif., shot the low round of the day, posting a 1-over 71 capturing third with a final score of 152 while Warren hung on to take fourth at 153.  Hsu and Hawk tied for fifth at 154 followed by McCurdy at 157.  Eight place went to Connor Fehmel of Agoura Hills at 158, while Brad Bossenbroek from La Mesa, Calif., and Valley tied for ninth at 160.
