TOURNAMENT INFORMATION

Jack and Madaline Hooper 5th Annual Memorial Junior Tournament will be held on July 21-22, 2005 at California Country Club located at 1509 South Workman Mill Road, Whittier, CA  90601.   Golf Shop Telephone No. (626) 968-4222. 

California Country Club is a soft spike only facility.   All Players walk and carry.   Pull carts or caddies are not permitted unless authorized in advance for special health reasons by JAGS.   

Directions:  Pomona Freeway (60) east to Crossroads Parkway exit; left over Fwy; left at stoplight to Workman Mill Road; right to Coleford Avenue; left to club.  Club is located at the end of Coleford Avenue. 

California Country Club is a private facility and does not permit practice rounds.   

12-18 Jr. Boys will be playing the Blue Tees, 12-18 Jr. Girls will be playing the Red Tees and College Division (Men/Women 18 – 24) play the Blue Tees (Men) Red Tees (Women). 

Tournament Check-In: Shot-gun start will be at 7:30am for both days of the tournament.  All participants must be checked in not later than 7:00 a.m., 30 minutes prior to the shotgun start for both days of the tournament. Range balls and lunch will be provided to all participants during the tournament.  Player/parent meeting will be held at 7:20 a.m. on the first day of the tournament (7/21/05).  

Weather The weather is usually warm at this facility but is cold and dewy in the early morning. Players are advised to wear sun block, hat or visor and bring an extra towel.  Dark clothing is not advisable in hot weather.  Please refer to the attire policy listed below.  

PLAYER WITHDRAWAL POLICY: JAGS tournament officials will scrutinize every withdrawal by interviewing the player and their playing partners.  If it’s determined that a player has withdrawn for reasons other than an injury, illness or family crisis, then it will be considered a violation of the JAGS player’s code of conduct.  The player will be suspended and could lose JAGS membership eligibility and/or tournament participation eligibility.  Before each tournament, the entire field will be advised of the new guidelines for reviewing WDs.   When a player makes his or her intention of withdrawing known to tournament officials, the player will again be advised of the policy and the consequences of an unjustified WD.   

NO SHOWS will not be tolerated and may result in being placed on tournament suspension pending a meeting with the tournament director.  Entry fees will not be refunded after deadline date of 7/2/05 for any reason.  Player substitution is not permitted. 

Player/Parent/Guest Attire Policy: Hats/visors must be worn with brim forward, males must remove hat/visors while indoors at host facility.  Collared shirts must be worn and tucked in at all times.  Women’s fashion shirts without a collar are acceptable but must have sleeves.  Women’s shorts must be no more than 5” above the knee or the inseam of the shorts must measure at least 5”.  Tank tops, denim pants or shorts, short-shorts, cut-off shorts, baggie pants or shorts, low rider pants or shorts, gym shorts or jeans are prohibited.  Males may not wear earrings.    

GalleriesSpectators will be permitted and must abide by the JAGS Dress Code, Code of Conduct Rules and Regulations, and may not use carts or bring food onto the golf course.  All spectators are required to sign a spectator release form prior to the start of the tournament. Spectators may not smoke tobacco products or consume alcohol beverages on the course while at a JAGS tournament. 

Players and or Spectators not following dress code attire will not be allowed on the course.
