Player Code of Conduct Policy

The JAGS Tour prides itself in the quality of its players, and host facilities at each of its events. In order to continue making our events enjoyable for everyone, the JAGS Tour requires all of its players; adhere to a set of guidelines known as the Code of Conduct. The Code of Conduct helps to ensure that our players grow and mature by understanding and accepting the consequences of their actions as they participate in our events and visit the host facility and its city. The Code of Conduct is to be followed throughout the junior’s stay at the tournament and host city. JAGS Tour tournaments are governed by the USGA Rules of Golf.

Cell Phones: Player’s cell phones must be in the OFF position during tournament play except for an on course ruling request or for an emergency situation.
Language: English is the only language permitted at JAGS tournaments. Players who talk in their native language during tournament play and before being released from the official scoring committee at the end of their round will be accessed a 2 stroke penalty. Players may not talk with other players, family members, guest or spectators until being released from the tournament scoring committee after their round is completed.
Advice: Is any counsel or suggestion which could influence a player in determining his play, the choice of a club or the method of making a stroke. In addition, any conversation between parent/spectator may be construed as advice. This includes any conversation between player/spectator in their native language. In either instance penalty for breach of this rule is two strokes. Players are responsible for the actions of their relatives and spectators in regards to this rule.
Violations of the Code of Conduct include: unsportsmanlike conduct (including abusive language, cheating, club throwing, disrespect to volunteers, officials or fellow competitors or abuse of golf course property); not adhering to the dress code of the host golf course; use or association with drugs or alcohol, smoking or chewing tobacco products; vandalism at host hotel, abusive behavior to any competitor’s family and/or property; and conduct not becoming of a JAGS Tour player, such as acting in anger or creating other distractions.
Code of Conduct Violation Penalties: Any Code of Conduct violation will result in an immediate meeting with the player with a follow-up letter written to the player and/or his/her parent/guardian. The JAGS Tour tournament committee may enforce any or all of the following penalties based on the severity and frequency of the violation(s): a two-stroke penalty for each act of unsportsmanlike conduct on the golf course, immediate disqualification from the tournament at which the violation occurs and/or a tournament disqualification that may result in disqualification from the next tournament(s) for which a player has been accepted. The JAGS Tour reserves the right to suspend or revoke a player’s membership for a major breach of the JAGS Tour Code of Conduct. Violation of the JAGS Tour Code of Conduct may affect a player’s eligibility for invitational events and post-season honors.

Player Dress Code Policy

It is the responsibility of the player to be in appropriate golf attire. Should a player be in violation of the JAGS Tour Dress Code Policy, the player will be required to change into appropriate clothing to meet the JAGS Tour Dress Code Policy and checked in with the tournament committee member (starter) on the first tee 10 minutes before his/her assigned tee time to avoid penalties or disqualification in accordance with the Rules of Golf.

Should a host facility have a stricter dress code, their policy will take precedence.

Required dress at the golf course: Hats/visors must be worn with brim forward. Collared shirts or mock turtlenecks (host golf course permitting) must be worn and tucked-in at all times. Women’s fashion shirts without collars must have sleeves. Women’s fashion shirts must not rise above the belt line at anytime during the golf swing. Women’s shorts must be no more than five inches above the knee or the inseam of the shorts must measure at least five inches. All JAGS Tour events require players to wear Soft Spike® golf shoes or other golf course appropriate footwear.
Player Prohibited Dress
Players in violation will not be allowed to tee off without conforming to dress code policy.

Prohibited dress at the golf course: tank tops, T-shirts, denim shorts, short-shorts, cut-off shorts, gym shorts and jeans. Earrings (for males), body piercings and tattoos must be covered.
CIF Rules and Regulations state California High School students may not wear any article of clothing (shirts, pants, hats, shoes, gloves, turtlenecks, rain gear, wind shirts, etc.) or may not use any equipment (bags, tees, balls, etc.) that displays their high school’s name or logo imprinted, embroidered, or stamped at a JAGS Tour tournament, event or program during their high school golfing season.

These seasons are as follows:

FALL: Girls Season is August 10th through post season competition (December 1st).
SPRING: Boys Season is February 1st through post season competition (June 10th).

If a player is not participating in CIF post season play at the end of their golf season, said player may resume using their school bag, equipment and wear school logo clothing etc. at any JAGS Tour tournaments, programs or events.

Pace of Play Policy

The JAGS Tour tournament committee will set the pace of play to expected rounds equal to or less than but not exceeding 4 hours and 30 minutes, 15 minute maximum per hole. Each player has 45 seconds once they initially arrive at their ball to play the shot. If the tournament committee warns a group for being “out of position,” the group has no more than three holes to resume proper position. If the “out of position” situation persists, a stroke penalty may be incurred for failure to reach proper position. Gross negligence of the pace of play may result in a disqualification. The JAGS Tour tournament committee will, at its discretion, take into account any time-altering factors such as host course problems, weather conditions and any unforeseeable time obstacles.

1st Offense: All* players in the group will receive a 1 stroke penalty.
2nd Offense: All* players in the group will receive a 2 stoke penalty.
3rd Offense: All* players in the group will be subject to Disqualification

*Exception - If a JAGS Tour Tournament Official/Committee deems a specific golfer(s) in a group that has been warned for slow play is the complete cause for the group being out of position, the JAGS Tour Tournament Official/Commitee will, at its discretion place above mentioned penalty(s) to said player or player(s) negligence of the pace of play. All decision are final and parent/spectator involvement will not be permitted.
